Tour the Villages

Around Kent you will find plenty of charming villages and hamlets with well signed footpaths.

Local newsagents will supply maps of walks for the area and no doubt will also be able to recommend a good pub for your mid point break. We would also recommend taking your bike out, as there are lots of pretty areas to see and visit and a bike will allow you to cover a larger area in a relatively short time.

Bedgebury Pinetum & Forest

You can hire a bike (including bikes for the disabled) or walk the trails. There are adventure play areas for younger children and mountain biking areas for the more adventurous.

The Wye Nature Reserve

For walking, fresh air and an opportunity to see native wildlife in the natural environment we recommend a trip to Wye. As well as lots of wildlife and plant life there are lots of areas of natural beauty with a diverse range of environments including Lowland grasslands and chalky areas.
The Wye nature reserve is just over 1 mile SE of the town of Wye and just under 4 miles NE of Ashford

Fowlmead Country Park

Fowlmead Country park is home to the minor trail and with interesting exhibits from the local areas mining history fowlmead has a lot to offer the visitor. The waste from the mines which was originally dumped on land has become an area of natural beauty as nature has reclaimed it. It is home to a wide range of bike activities with bike hire on site. The smooth circular cycle track stretches for 2 miles providing a good safe environment for a family bike ride and leaving plenty of room for the serious cyclists to improve their game. Mountain bikes are also welcome to explore the off track areas where gravel paths have been laid and there is a new MTX obstacle track and bike park recently installed to provide a challenge to mountain bikers.

It also contains a cafe and bike hire centre which provides all the facilities you could wish for.
