Avoid the crush of the big town high streets and visit a smaller town such as Deal. Many of our smaller towns are experiencing a revival with small independent shops opening up.

Deal boasts numerous small independent shops including galleries, fashion retailers, delicatessens and gift shops as well as numerous lovely small cafes.

Don't let your visit to Deal end at the pedestrian precinct, keep walking along High Street towards where the Saturday market is held and you'll find numerous interesting shops to explore.

If you leave the high street and walk along Victoria Road you can browse the Joem gallery. Alternatively visit the sea front for more places to eat and drink as well as the timeball tower museum. If the weather is pleasant stroll on past Deal castle and browse the shops on The Strand in Walmer.
